OSHA 503: Update for General Industry Outreach Trainers

Course Description

Brush up on the latest OSHA standards and interpretations, Outreach Trainer Program Requirements, and safety and health topics in order to maintain your OSHA Authorized Outreach General Industry trainer status. To remain authorized, this course must be taken every four years prior to trainer expiration. Learn from industry experts and network with your fellow General Industry trainers to discuss effective adult training techniques and 10- and 30-hour class management.

Important Information

PREREQUISITE

Completion of one of the following courses taken within the last 7 years:

Online Offerings Only: OSHA Atlanta Region

The only students allowed to enroll in online (Virtual Instructor Led Training) courses are either:

  • those living or working in the OSHA Atlanta Region. This includes Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and a portion of Florida. Please refer to this map for more information on OSHA Regions. 
    – OR –
  • those who are previous GA Tech OTIEC students.

Materials

  • REQUIRED
    •  A current Outreach Trainer card, transcript, or copy of certificate for the last OSHA 501 or OSHA 503 course attended.
      • If expired, you will not be approved to take the class, and will be required to retake the OSHA 501 course.
      • Additionally, if expired and the OSHA 511 was taken >7 years prior, the OSHA 511 will also be required.
    • Photo identification upon course check-in
    • Laptop computer, tablet, or smart phone (online offerings only)
  • RECOMMENDED
    • Access to current version of OSHA 29 CFR 1910
